Qualification required

University Degree (Spanish University Degrees: Bachelor, 4-5 years; Engineer, 5-6 years; Architect, 5 years; Technical Engineer, 3 years; Technical Architect, 3 years; Diplomado, graduate under a three-year course programme).

Programme objectives

To provide engineers and pilots with the appropriate initial qualification, theoretical and practical training required to plan, execute and analyse the relevant flight tests engineering.

To achieve a quality level in the medium-term similar to the existent currently in other Centres such as The United States Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS), The U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School (USAF TPS), L'école du Personnel Navigant d'Essais et de Réception (EPNER) and The Empire Test Pilots' School (ETPS).

To act as a forum for discussing training and cultural aspects related to engineering flight tests in which Spain industrially and institutionally participates.

Course Outline

  1. Fundamentals of Aeronautics (120 theoretical hours).
  2. Aeronautical Systems Engineering (150 theoretical hours).
  3. Test Methodology (150 theoretical hours).
  4. Testing Practices (120 hours on practical works).
  5. Aircraft Certification (60 theoretical hours).
